St. Ignatius Loyola is here to assist you and your child as he/she prepares for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. Special retreats and preparation sessions are scheduled to prepare your child for the sacraments and also to further parents' understanding of the sacraments and how they can help in the preparation of their child.
The scheduled dates for children preparing to receive First Reconciliation and Eucharist in the Spring of 2017 are as follows:
Reconciliation/Eucharist Parent Meeting
Wednesday, October 12, 2016 - 7:30 to 8:30 PM
First Reconciliation Retreat
Saturday, January 28, 2017 - 8:45 to 11:45 AM
First Eucharist Retreat
Saturday, April 1, 2017 - 8:45 to 11:45 AM
Retreats are for ALL children preparing to receive First Reconciliation and Eucharist this year and at least one parent.
Additional First Reconciliation and Eucharist Sessions for Children in Third Grade and Older
In addition to the above parent meeting and retreats, all children in third grade and older must attend the following preparation sessions to receive First Reconciliation and Eucharist in Spring of 2017. At least one parent must attend with their child. ALL sessions are required.
The date for Reconciliation Preparation is Thursday, January 19, 2017, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The date for Eucharist Preparation is Thursday, March 23, 2017, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Additional First Reconciliation Sessions for Children in Second grade only:
In addition to the above retreat dates, all children in 2nd grade (children in faith formation classes, home school option and Catholic schools) must attend two sessions held during the regular faith formation classes: Sunday at 3:45; Tuesday at 4:30 and 6:30; Wednesday at 4:30. These dates will be posted in September 2016. Parents are not required to attend.
