Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Saturday, August 15 is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Because the Assumption falls on a Saturday this year, the obligation to attend Mass is abrogated, however, the faithful are encouraged to celebrate the day with prayer and Mass attendance in honor of our Blessed Mother.
On this feast day of Our Lady we celebrate God's crowning of His work in the Blessed Mother as she ends her earthly life and enters eternity. The Assumption completes God's work in Mary since it was not fitting that the flesh that had given life to God himself should ever undergo corruption. This feast turns our eyes in that direction, where we will follow when our earthly life is over.
Mass Schedule for the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Saturday, August 15 – 9:00 a.m.

Mass will be celebrated in the main church.

The Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes before Mass.

There will be NO 9:30 a.m. CONFESSIONS on Saturday, August 15.
