St. Ignatius Needs You!
Altar Servers / Incense Ministers: These ministers serve God and the community through their presence and assistance at the altar. This ministry is open to all young people, both male and female, in the 5th grade and older. Advanced altar servers and adults can also train and serve as Incense Minsters.
Lectors: Through the ministry of the lector within the liturgy, God speaks to the people and Christ proclaims his Gospel. Persons interested in this ministry must be willing to demonstrate and develop their gift in the public proclamation of the Word.
Hospitality: In addition to greeting people when they arrive, Hospitality Ministers help ensure proper social distancing as they bring forward the community at Communion, assist with dismissal, and pass out bulletins.
Worship Coordinators: Each liturgical celebration requires a trained Worship Coordinator present to help prepare the altar, ensure that we have enough ministers, help the clergy prepare, and do all the ‘behind the scenes’ preparation that help the Mass be a great experience for all present.
Arts / Environment: The environment of our worship space assists the faithful to realize God's presence and to express its public worship. The ministry is dedicated to seasonal liturgical settings.
Music Ministry: God has bestowed upon his people the gift of song, and God is indeed present whenever his people sing his praises. The music ministry supports and strengthens the community’s faith and worship. Choirs composed of children, teens, and adults are supported by accompanists, handbell ringers, and instrumentalists. The Cantor proclaims the Word of God and leads singing at liturgical celebrations. Choir members attend a weekly rehearsal to prepare for weekend Masses and holy days.
Sound & Videography: The Sound Tech operates the sound mixer board and lights at Mass or other celebrations and operates video for special events. High school students with theater or stage crew experience may be interested in joining this ministry. Videographers are needed to continue to live stream Mass for those unable to attend in person. Sound Techs attend an annual training/formation session, and training is offered on the job for these ministries.
Once you submit your name, contact information, and ministry interest, we will contact you with more information, including training.
