Elementary Formation encompasses children in Pre-K4 through Grade 5. We welcome the opportunity to help your children grow in their faith through Faith Formation.
Early Childhood Formation: Pre-K4 and Kindergarten
Early Childhood Formation uses Allelu! published by Our Sunday Visitor. The program consists of weekly lessons and activities organized around the four big ideas listed under Elementary Formation. Weekly take-home pages are distributed for family discussion and prayer.
Elementary Formation: Graders 1-5
Elementary Faith Formation uses the Christ in Us series from Sadlier Press. The program is adapted to the new curriculum formatted by the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston that focuses on lifelong learning and forming Disciples in Christ. This curriculum follows a scope and sequence organized around four big ideas: “Who Is Jesus Christ?”; “How Do We Get to Know and Love Jesus Christ?”; “How does Jesus Christ Teach Us to Live a Moral Life?”; and “How Are We Called to Become Missionary Disciples of Jesus Christ?”. Occasionally, there will be take home materials for family discussion and prayer.
Schedule
Early Childhood and Elementary classes are one hour and fifteen minutes long, one day a week during the school year. In order to provide an opportunity for families to find a class that best suits their schedules, we offer the following days and times:
Home School Option
Parents are the primary educators of their children. With this in mind, we offer a home school option that allows parents to teach their children at home in place of formal catechetical class
Sacrament Information
Please go to Sacramental Preparation for information about First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.
"Faithful" Adult Formation Series for Parents (Coming Fall 2020)
We will be offering a 4-part series for parents (and other interested adults) based on the same curriculum covered in our PK-12 faith formation program. For more information, click HERE
