Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick Sunday, March 1 at the 11:00 a.m. Mass
“Is there anyone sick among you? Let him send for the presbyters of the church and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick man and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed any sins, they will be forgiven him.” (James 5: 14 – 15)
Those who are seriously ill and those undergoing surgery are encouraged to seek this sacrament. It is not necessary to repeat the Anointing of the Sick throughout the duration of an illness unless the sick person recovers after being anointed and then again falls ill or if during the same illness the person’s condition becomes more serious. Throughout the duration of an illness, Eucharist is the sacrament which sustains our strength.
Anointing of the Sick will be celebrated during the 11:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday, March 1. Please register to celebrate Sacrament of Anointing by calling the Parish Office, 281-370-3401.
