Over the years, faith formation classes have been called by many names such as religion classes, CCE classes, CCD classes, religious education or simply, children's classes. St. Ignatius Loyola parish uses the term "faith formation" to help convey that learning about one's faith is a life long process which entails continuous "formation".
Registration is required before starting Formation class. We welcome children, ages 4 (as of 9/1/16) through Grade 12. Our Formation year runs from mid- Sept. though early May. It is never too late to register! Faith Formation Classes start the week of September 18, 2016.
If your child was enrolled this past year (15-16) in faith formation classes, you will receive a registration packet by the first week of August. If you have recently moved, please be sure to send us your updated mailing information so you can receive your registration packets.
If your child needs Baptism, Profession of Faith, First Reconcilation, First Eucharist or Confirmation, please refer to the Sacramental Preparation link on the left.

Children with disabilities
We strive to provide faith formation opportunities for all children with disabilities based on abilities and needs - small classes, individual formation as well as inclusion with regular classes. Please contact your grade level director for more information.
We accept payment by credit card (in office only), cash or check payable to St. Ignatius. You may also choose to pay later. If you choose to pay later, please make sure you address the payment "Att: Formation Office". Please note that financial need should not keep your child from attending formation classes - scholarships are available. Please contact the Formation Office.
Volunteers are the heart of Formation. We depend on volunteers for everything that happens. No prior experience is needed. We provide training and all materials. We need catechists, assistants, hall and parking lot monitors, attendance aides and nursery help. You also receive a discount on tuition if you volunteer on a weekly basis. Please contact us for more information.
Protecting God's Children
The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston requires all volunteers 18 and older to attend a "Protecting God's Children" session, which addresses sexual abuse. This training is mandated by the Archdiocese for adults who work with children on a regular ongoing basis. Registration is handled through www.virtus.org If you need assistance with the online registration, please contact our office.
Keeping the Promise Alive
If you originally had Virtus training before 2010, you are required to take the refresher course. Register for "Keeping the Promise Alive" at www.virtus.org.
