Covid-19 Plan for Faith Formation, Fall 2020
- At this time, we are planning to offer in-person classes for children and youth this fall as well as a home study option for grades K-12.
- For those choosing in-person classes, health and safety protocols will be in place. Protocols will include taking of temperatures, hand sanitation, social distancing, and the wearing of masks in all buildings. Click HERE for information regarding on-campus classes.
- In order to keep class sizes small we will limit the number of registrations for in-person classes. If you desire to attend classes on campus, please register as soon as possible to ensure your preferred day / time is available.
- All plans are subject to change due to state, county, and/or archdiocesan regulation

About St. Ignatius Youth Ministry (SIYM)
We are a thriving youth community passionate about Jesus and fellowship. As God calls us to be in community, we gather to form and build good holy relationships with each other to help us on our earthly pilgrimage.
Our youth ministry program at St. Ignatius focuses on forming students in grades 6-12 in three specific areas:
- Human Formation through building community.
- Personal Formation through dynamic discipleship.
- Spiritual Formation through developing a deep prayer life.

St. Ignatius Youth Ministry strives to create a safe environment where students can encounter Jesus through dynamic discipleship, and systematic catechises in order to foster a personal relationship with God and be who God has created them to be!

To create missionary disciples who are centered on the Eucharist and love the Blessed Mother, while striving to grow in holiness.

Our Strategy
Students gather on Sundays for faith formation. Junior High and High School meet from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Both groups are encouraged to attend our Youth Mass at 5:15 p.m. with their families.
The format we use is that of Life Teen and EDGE. These sessions are aimed to be both fun and challenging for students to grow deeper in their faith. They are systematic catechetical gatherings with four distinct segments: Gather, Proclaim, Break, and Send:
- Gather: Involes an invitation to the students welcoming them. Usually done with either a game, skit, video clip, and praise & worship.
- Proclaim: The main teaching for the session.
- Break: Students meet with their Small Groups and break open the teaching.
- Send: To close out the session, students gather again in large group and receive the weekly challenge to live out and practice what they've learned.
